The Asbury is a classic mid-Maryland style Colonial Revival home that started as a plan of CE Rensberger’s but has been revamped to suit the Owner’s family, lifestyle, and particular needs for now and in the future. While blending in well with the community the interior is totally suited for this family. There is no dining room, rather a home office for telecommuting. The rear of the home is a completely open plan with a single space 36 feet wide by 17 feet deep that includes a kitchen area, dining space, and family room with fireplace. There is an oversized laundry/mudroom. The garage is oversized with an extra deep bay not visible from the street. Outdoor living is a premium, and for this Owner we have utilized a long low retaining wall to limit tree-clearing and to create a ‘seat-wall.’ A large shaded patio immediately behind the home invites social gatherings to flow in and out of the home. An outdoor shower suits the kids back from the beach and the dogs too. Follow along as we bring this home from the ground up!

The Cumberland is a plan furnished by C.E. Rensberger & Family and customized by our client. On the exterior we see charming Craftsman period elements from corbels to shake siding and a period garage door styled after a carriage house door from the early 20th century. Inside there are three full bedrooms with a master suite on the main level. There is a spacious family room-kitchen-nook area with a real woodburning fireplace that is completely open to the private rear of the home. Social gatherings will transition smoothly from inside to outside and back again via multiple glass filled french doors. By utilizing the lay of the land and a smartly placed low retaining wall in the rear, the clients will enjoy a private back yard experience, screened by a large tree-save area farther back. For future growth planned by the family, we are utilizing attic trusses to create a large but unfinished attic space. Watch with us as we transform this patch of woods into a dream home
